Pope Benedict XVI has called for this 13-month celebration beginning on October 11, 2012, the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and 20th anniversary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and ends on November 24, 2013, the Feast of Christ the King.
