This session will focus on effective ways of engaging parents during baptismal preparation and supporting them following the baptism of their child.
Family Focus is an ongoing series offering short presentations on resources and effective strategies for addressing particular aspects of family life. Each session focuses on one area of ministry or family life.
When parents present themselves to the Church for the Baptism of their child, what does the preparation look like in your parish?
How can we optimize this opportunity to make it a moment that invites the family to move deeper into a life of faith? How do we follow-up after the celebration of Baptism over the next few years?
When a couple has a child, especially their first, they experience a major life transition. For the parish, this is an opportunity to meet the parents where they are, and to accompany them as they take the first steps in raising this child in the faith.
This program for clergy, catechetical leaders, pastoral associates and others will focus on effective ways of engaging parents during baptismal preparation and supporting them following the baptism of their child.
