35th Anniversary Pilgrimage to La Sagrada Familia

United at the HeartJoin World Mission, Archbishop Jerome Listecki, and parishioners from around the Archdiocese of Milwaukee as we bring our anniversary year to a close with a pilgrimage celebrating how we are United at the Heart.

Trip Basics:

Dates: January 17-24, 2017 

(Specific flight information will be set in late 2016)

Cost: $1,800.00 

(The trip cost includes airfare; all accommodations; all meals within the parish; daily breakfast at the Hotel Europa, and Ground Transportation. Cost does not include personal baggage fees, passport or immunization costs, $10 Visa cost for entrance into the DR,  the cost of meals in Santo Domingo, or personal purchases/spending money)

Application:

Your completed application is due October 16th, 2016.  An initial non-refundable deposit of $360.00 (20% of the trip cost) is due October 18th, 2016, with the balance ($1,440.00) due by January 10th, 2017.

Below is a sample itinerary of the kinds of activities the trip might include. The schedule is subject to revision or reorganization. Mission Travel requires that the traveler is flexible and adaptable to these changes.

DAY ONE (Tues, Jan. 17)  Travel to Santo Domingo and Travel to Sabana Yegua (Parish Center)

  • Orientation to parish
  • Evening liturgy in Sabana Yegua
  • Dinner in parish
  • Overnight with Host Family                                               

DAYS TWO-FOUR: (Wed, Jan. 18 to Fri, Jan. 20): Visiting within the Parish

  • Visit nearby and remote areas of La Sagrada Familia
  • Evening liturgy in parish
  • Dinner in parish
  • Overnight with Host Family

DAY FIVE: (Sat, Jan 21): Feast of Our Lady of Altagracia and Anniversary Mass 

  • Celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Altagracia and Anniversary Mass with Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki and Bishop José Dolores Grullón Estrella, Bishop of San Juan de la Maguana.
  • Parish-wide celebration following MassArchbishop in La Sagrada Familia

DAY SIX (Sun, Jan 22): Last Mass in Parish, Leave for Santo Domingo

  • Mass in the parish at 8:00 AM. 
  • Breakfast in parish
  • Leave for Santo Domingo and check in to hotel Europa.
  • Tour of the colonial city in the afternoon.
  • Dinner on your own
  • Overnight at Hotel Europa

DAY SEVEN (Mon, Jan 23): Higuey and Santo Domingo

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • Travel to Higuey for Mass (10:00 AM)
  • "On your own" time in Santo Domingo
  • Dinner on your own
  • Overnight at Hotel Europa

DAY EIGHT (Tues, Jan 24): Last Mass in Dominican Republic, Travel to Milwaukee

  • Breakfast at hotel
  • 8:30 AM Mass at the Cathedral in Santo Domingo
  • Leave for Milwaukee.
