Partners in Mission: A Visit to La Sagrada Familia Parish “When traveling with my teenage daughter to meet the people of La Sagrada Familia in the heat of summer 2008 I had no idea I’d long to return over and over again. In March 2011 the archdiocesan sponsored pilgrimage was the second of what I hope will be many trips to see my friends in La Sagrada Familia. We are now more like family. Some of us cried in each other’s arms upon meeting and parting; others shared emotions in writing letters, emails or Facebook messages. When we are together we share watermelon and storybooks and when apart sometimes we send gifts. We always pray for one another. Our relationship deepens with each interaction and the bond grows stronger as we come to know one another in the Body of Christ. This, for me, is a lived experience of Eucharist and fills my heart with great joy. I am grateful for this shining example of relationship between the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and La Sagrada Familia of how to answer our call to mission. (LeAnn Rogan, a parishioner from St. Anne Parish, Pleasant Prairie) Over 350 people from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee have visited our sister parish during these 30 years. World Mission Ministries is sponsoring a pilgrimage to La Sagrada Familia February 28-March 7, 2012. Please consider visiting your sisters and brothers in the parish.
