Career Background Overview
Andrea D. Chavez-Kopp serves as the Director of Advancement and Business Development for the National Catholic Educational Association. Andrea began her career in Catholic education as a high school social studies teacher in Naples, FL. She transitioned to parish ministry in 2005 after relocating to the Florida panhandle. In 2010, she was called back into the classroom as a middle school language arts and STEM co-teacher. She has served in several leadership capacities within the schools and parishes she has worked including Department Chair, iPad coordinator, GAFE administrator, Curriculum Team Leader, Director of Youth Ministry and Young Adult Ministry Coordinator. Since joining the staff of NCEA in 2015, she risen through the ranks serving as the Manager of Educational Resources, Assistant Director of Professional Development and Director of Formation and Digital Engagement. She holds a B.A. in History and Secondary Education as well as an M.Ed in Instructional Leadership from St. Leo University.
