2nd Grade Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Use Archdiocesan Learning Standards to educate our students in a loving and nurturing way.

  • Create a safe, secure and nurturing environment for the students.

  • Collaborate with other teachers to develop age appropriate curriculum.

  • Provide a daily agenda that meets the diverse needs of all children. Provide flexibility in the structure of the day to meet those needs.

  • Maintain a positive mindset toward child learning and social-emotional development.

  • Work effectively within existing learning structures and believe in the capabilities of children to excel.

  • Facilitate problem-solving.

  • Manage small and large groups of students in a classroom environment and communicate effectively with students.

  • Have students participating in ongoing assessments and evaluations to determine growth and level of learning.

  • Provide a classroom environment that encourages parent participation.

  • Communicate with parents on a weekly basis to keep them informed about classroom activities and any upcoming events.

  • Adhere to school processes and protocols.

  • Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials.

  • Enforce school-wide safety procedures, disciplinary codes, and rewards.

  • Document student developments and progress to share with parent.

  • Evaluate student's growth and achievement on a regular basis.


Requirements and Qualifications:


  • State of Wisconsin licensure or licensure plan required

  • Knowledge of technology and applicable programs

  • Positive attitude

  • Ability to work/collaborate with a team

  • Knowledge of Grade Level Academic Standards

  • Catholic (preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Collaborative attitude

  • Strong communication skills

  • Student data analysis skills

  • A compassionate and confident leader

  • Clear, consistent and respectful communicator

  • Attentive listener

  • Creative

  • Able to create an engaging learning environment

  • High level of patience with experience as a mediator

  • Keeps a positive attitude
