Advancement Officer (Full-time)


  • Responsible for setting and maintaining professional writing and design standards for parish and school communications. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Print publications including parish and school newsletter/magazine, marketing materials, giving program brochures, and direct mail pieces
    • Electronic communications including website, social media, and email
    • Media relations including advertising and press releases in local newspapers, local media coverage of parish and school events.
  • Work closely with the pastor, principal and marketing team to develop a public relations and communication plan


  • Work with the principal to plan and manage the marketing, recruiting and retention of students. This includes but is not limited to open houses, school visits and tours, registration, brochure creation, etc.
  • Work closely with key volunteers, coordinate the external and internal marketing efforts and initiatives that attract and retain students in sufficient numbers.
  • Plan, collect data, make projections and report recruiting data.


  • Work to create and support a culture of philanthropy within the school and parish
  • Work with committee on auction and Annual Development Fund
  • Staff point person for Home and School Association and fundraising events

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Commitment to the St. Charles School mission.
  • Ability to manage and evaluate multiple projects and priorities and meet challenging and changing deadlines.
  • Ability to professionally communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff, faculty, parents, perspective parents, volunteers and parishioners.
  • Proven experience managing a sales and follow through process.
  • Experience developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, donors, parents, administrators, faculty, and volunteers.
  • Proven record of success working as a leader and part of a team.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and self-motivated.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; Familiar with basic database functions.
  • Flexible schedule as job may require some evening and weekend work.
  • Proper completion of Safe Guarding certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to start date.
  • A faith-filled, practicing Catholic is highly preferred.


Education and Experience:  A minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably in sales, marketing, communication, non-profit, or education. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, or education.

Reporting: Reports to the Principal

Committee Assignments: Marketing, Home & School, Development Fund, Auction
