Business Manager

Personal Aptitude

Special Skills

  4. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and record keeping routines as they apply to Archdiocesan norms.
  5. Knowledge of Archdiocesan personnel policies, procedures and guidelines.

              

Finance

 

  1. Assists in the planning of financial stewardship and long-range planning efforts.
  1. Maintains adequate internal controls following Archdiocesan guidelines.
  1. Directs, controls and maintains general and subsidiary accounting for parish funds
  2. Assists in developing systems, procedures and internal controls necessary to accurately report, interpret and communicate the financial condition of the parish.
  1. Serves as a contact and facilitator as well as prepares work papers in conjunction with periodic independent audit/internal review.
  2. Assist in the reconciliation of corporate bank accounts.
  3. Assists in the development of a budgetary plan for both operations and capital needs.
  4. Monitors and assures compliance with all approved budgets.
  5. Assist in the preparation of financial expertise and regular financial reports to the Pastor, Director of Administrative Services, Trustees, Finance Council, pastoral staff and parish committees and organizations.
  6. Oversees maintenance of contribution records in accordance with IRS guidelines.

Administration

  1. May provides staff support to the Pastoral Council and the Finance Council and their subcommittees and any ad hoc committees that may be formed from time to time, as requested.
  2. Assists in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines for areas of responsibility in cooperation with the Pastor.
  3. Assists in the preparation of reports as required by law or the Archdiocese.
  4. Assures maintenance of raffle licenses, as required.
  5. Assist in monitoring the parish responsibility for cemetery administration.
  6. Manages a centralized file for all licenses and permits.Assures all licenses and permits are up-to-date and accurate.
  7. Manages a centralized file for all contracts.Assures all contractual obligations are up-to-date.
  8. May attend Archdiocesan meetings or other continuing education programs where appropriate for training and development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Finance or Computer Science, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer operations, computer systems and parish office equipment.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of accounting and supervisory experience.Five to six years’ experience in business or management preferred.
