Co-Director of Facilities

*Supervises and participates in the work of the maintenance with custodial staff of all three parishes.

*Assures compliance with all safety and security regulations, etc.

*Serves as the contact with insurance company and any property/facility inspectors.

*Keeps buildings and facilities up to code and in compliance (i.e. asbestos, accreditation, fire department, insurance, fire extinguishers, electrical, plumbing, etc.)  and maintains current documents per requirements.  Prepares and participates in site visits pertaining to the above.

*Works with lease of school property and building maintenance.

*Arranges for and manages third-party contractor support as needed.

*Implements the calendar of events of all parish and site usage.

*Oversees the bulk purchasing of maintenance supplies.

*Attends Building and Grounds Commission meetings for each site.

*Participates in staff, director and all other meetings as requested.

*Participates in annual budget processes of the parishes and manages maintenance budgets throughout the year.

*Works with the Director of Operations to secure bids/proposals and contracts for facility repairs; provides updates on general grounds and facility maintenance.

Qualifications

*Education:  College graduate and/or equivalent experience in mechanics and building maintenance.

*Current Boiler Operators License

*Excellent communication and organizational skills: computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

*Collaborative approach with staff, parishioners and volunteers.

*Ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail.

*Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.

*PHYSICAL DEMAND LEVEL/ EQUIVALENT MET LEVEL (check one; refer to Physical Requirement Section)*:  

  • Medium /3.6-6.3 METs (0-50 lbs.)
  • Heavy/6.4-7.5 METs (greater than 50 lbs.)

We are accepting applications for a full-time Co-Director of Facilities, whose time will be split working at 3 locations under the supervision of a shared Director of Operations. This is a full-time (40hrs/week) plus on-call position with benefits. A college degree or equivalent experience in mechanics and building maintenance is required. A current Boiler Operator License is essential. A qualified candidate would be responsible for providing coordinated maintenance within the 3 parishes’ building and grounds. A valid driver’s license is required. The candidate must be able to go up and down steps and ladders, lift up to 100 lbs.’, tolerate hazardous waste and chemicals, and operate power equipment. The ability to collaborate with the other maintenance staff and employees is a must. The candidate must be able to successfully complete the standard Archdiocese background check and Safe Environment Certification.
