Director of Administrative Services (Director of Operations)

The DAS reports to the pastor/administrator, and supervises parish staff members at both parish sites.  The DAS works collaboratively with the Business Manager for both parish communities. This person works closely with the pastor/administrator and serves to increase his availability for the sacramental and pastoral needs of the parishes.  The pastor/ administrator maintains overall authority and responsibility for the temporal and pastoral welfare of the parishes.     

In general, the DAS:

--  Oversees the day-to-day general operations of the parish sites

--  The position is twofold, providing both managerial supervision and visible pastoral presence

--  Supervises or coordinates areas of administration, that include finance, human resources, facilities and grounds, technology, and stewardship

--  Supervises parish staff at the parish sites

--  Works with the Pastoral Council and the Finance Council

 -- Is present for significant events in the life of the parish community



Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration

Training or mentoring in parish administration

3+ years of experience, with supervisory experience

Demonstrated skills in leadership

Demonstrated experience in problem solving in both business and facilities solutions

Solid understanding of basic business accounting principles regarding P&Ls, balance sheets, general ledgers, payables, receivables, and reconciliations

Experiences in facilities management, with a solid understanding of basic primary facilities systems

Experience with vendor contracts

Good working knowledge of Human Resources principles and law

Experience with developing and implementing plans

Facility Management: supervise the maintenance staff and make recommendations to the Buildings and Grounds Committee for building upkeep and repair, including negotiating contracts with outside vendors

Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church and its mission is required

Ability to maintain confidentiality
