Director of Annual Fund

  1. Oversees the planning and strategic direction of the direct mail program, including assisting with letter writing, production of mailing materials, mailing timelines, and student and parent involvement.
  2. Manages the scholarship program and stewardship activities including coordination of student acknowledgement of donor-funded scholarships.
  3. Manages the planning and execution of Grandparent Liturgy, including follow-up solicitation.
  4. Manages the execution and strategic detail of phone-a-thon programs, both Girl Talk and parent activities.
  5. Manages the Mosaic program, including recruiting senior leaders and coordinating the annual senior class fundraising effort from start to finish.
  6. Working with the Alumnae Director, manages and executes Dasher Day, an annual fundraising campaign targeting younger alumnae done mainly through social media marketing.
  7. Manages a portfolio of donors and prospects and makes a set number of personal visits each year with the goal of asking for Annual Fund and related major gift support.
  8. Coordinates activities for an Annual Fund thank you event or other stewardship activities.  Supports outreach to donors who have increased giving, made new gifts, etc.
  9. Provides proactive research and analysis of donors and prospects to determine their ability to support annual and other campaigns, increase donations, and/or establish scholarship/endowment funds.
  10. Assists in Annual Fund strategic planning and long-range planning discussions.
  11. Working with the Senior Director of Development, staffs the Development Committee of the DSHA Board of Directors, including meeting support, preparation of the Charitable Giving Report and minutes.
  12. Participates in educational opportunities to further professional development.
  13. Attends specific evening and weekend activities, as required.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Position requires a bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of experience in a related position, preferably in a non-profit fundraising environment.  Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effective oral and written communications.
  • Ability to demonstrate dedication to the mission and vision of DSHA.
  • Experience with Annual Fund activities and/or special events and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, take initiative on projects, work independently or with a team.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge (or other fundraising software), internet and email, and advanced PC skills to include MS Office Excel and Word.
  • The ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
