The Family of Four Parishes is a collaboration of shared priests and staff – including two directors of liturgy and music – among the downtown, East Side, and Riverwest parishes of Milwaukee, WI. We are a vibrant, welcoming faith community full of life! Our weekend liturgies are at the core of our mission. We have several active social justice, human concerns, pastoral care and faith formation programs serving a variety of parishioners in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan and execute parish liturgies and music for Three Holy Women and Our Lady of Divine Providence:
- Plan music with a 6-week lead time; schedule organists and cantors; plan, rehearse and direct two choirs (one at each parish); collect and share music with musicians, design orders of worship and submit monthly copyright information to OneLicense with help from administrative assistant (Gather Comprehensive 2nd edition is the primary hymnal, supplemented by Gather 4 and selections from OCP.)
- Schedule liturgical ministers, form new and existing liturgical ministers, plan and execute seasonal liturgical environments and oversee the general sacristy/church needs
- Clerical support is provided to create orders of worship, report copyrights and payroll and schedule ministers.
- Plan and execute wedding liturgies for the “Family of Four Parishes” in collaboration with the presiders and co-Director of Liturgy and Music
- Meet/communicate with couples to plan wedding liturgies and music, design orders of worship for couples based on electronic submission form and follow up with questions in a timely manner
- Schedule organists and cantors for wedding liturgies, send needed music and copies to cantor and submit payroll for each wedding played
- Plan and execute funeral liturgies for the “Family of Four Parishes” in collaboration with the presiders and co-Director of Liturgy and Music
- Meet/communicate with family of deceased, direct them to the parish website for funeral music ideas and request plan to be submitted via website form; follow up with questions in a timely manner
- Schedule cantor, provide list of music and copies as needed, play funeral and submit payroll for each funeral played
- In collaboration with the co-Director of Liturgy and Music, plan music for special “four-parish” services including, but not limited to, Taize Prayer, All-Souls day Vespers, Lent and Advent Reconciliation Services and opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration
- Participate in monthly Staff Meetings, ongoing Directors’ Meetings and continued professional development opportunities
- Other duties as assigned by Pastor
