Director of Maintenance

 

Position Summary:

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the building and grounds maintenance of the Upper Campus building, serves as a liaison between all sub-contractors of SJCA, and also manages both Campus’s custodial staff.  The Director should possess a broad base of technical knowledge, exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and place great importance to the safety of SJCA’s faculty, staff,

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that facilities are up to code and pass all state, county, and city inspections.

  • Inform the Administrative Leadership Team of any potential problems including physical building deterioration, unmet governmental requirements, security issues, or other matters that involving the overall welfare of the buildings.

  • Work closely with the Administrative Leadership Team regarding crisis management, safety, security, and emergency school closings.

  • Manage building security, including the distribution of keys.

  • Develop and manage the Facilities Department budget; prioritize work orders.

  • Serve as a liaison with outside vendors and contractors.

  • Schedule, oversee, and maintain records of repair service calls and regular preventative maintenance.

  • Inspect all work areas regularly to ensure that no safety hazards exist.

  • Supervise all Upper and Lower Campus custodial and maintenance staff.

  • Order cleaning and maintenance supplies.

  • Research and locate WE Energies rebates.

  • Serve as a member of the Facilities Committee of the Board of Trustees.

  • Complete 2 hour asbestos awareness class annually.

  • Perform additional program duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years maintenance experience
  • Experience in personnel management
  • WI Boiler’s license required, Millwright A card
  • LEA designated person compliance
  • Knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of pneumatic systems
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical
  • Ability to perform the position’s physical requirements
