The Director would be responsible for selecting the music, developing and rehearsing cantors, directing the weekly choir rehearsal, participating in liturgical planning with the Pastor, manage the music budget, prepares the music ministry schedule, and accompanies all weekend and holy day Masses.
Candidates should have a good knowledge of quality repertoire available for liturgical music programs for choirs and congregation. They should have working knowledge of the musical instruments commonly used in the provision of liturgical music. Be proficient in organ/piano. A candidate should have a knowledge of the liturgical traditions of the Catholic Church. He or she should have formal training or demonstrated experience as a choral conductor. The candidate should be able to collaborate effectively with staff and parish members.
