Instruction and Curriculum
1. Respect and encourage the uniqueness and individual differences of each student.
2. Teach Christian values by word and by example. Treat all members of the community with respect and dignity.
3. Implement a standard based curriculum as perscribed by the school and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
4. Provide assistance to and/or refer students who have a learning difference.
5. Work with the school principal, parents and outside agencies when there is a specific student need
6. Prepare the necessary plans and materials to meet these objectives and provide meaningful learning experiences.
7. Assess students’ performance formally and informally using a variety of appropriate assessment tools and testing measures.
8. Cooperate in curriculum development to meet the needs of the students.
9. Prepare, organize and supervise field trips that follow the curriculum.
10. Prepare order for needed materials and provide the administrative assistant with the information in a timely fashion.
11. Supervise students as described in the faculty handbook and as required by the school principal.
12. Plan and lead students in music concerts and/or other related events.
13. Teachers must take the on-line course of the DPI Wisconsin Medication Training program. Teachers are required to take the training/verification on health concerns related to the students they instruct.
1. Help create a professional working atmosphere.
2. Communicate and meet with teachers regarding student progress and concerns.
3. Communicate with teachers to provide for curriculum connections as well as information concerning student needs and concerns.
4. Communicate with parents as needed and report to school principal as appropriate.
5. Attend the scheduled Home and School meetings, Parent Information Night and other required events as scheduled.
6. Practice punctuality in completing school duties, administrative requests and observing times for school arrival/end of day (7:30am – 3:30pm)
1. Record daily attendance for instructional purposes.
2. Maintain grading system and update PowerSchool information at least every two weeks.
3. Prepare student report cards.
4. Complete curriculum development work.
5. Complete other record keeping as requested by the school principal.
1. Attend and be actively involved in assigned faculty meetings, level meetings and in-services.
2. Continue to work toward religion certification as outlined by Office for Schools standards.
3. Obtain/Maintain Wisconsin state Teaching certification or follow an approved study plan leading to certification within the specified time frame. The study plan must be filed by January of the first year of hire.
4. Design and actively pursue a professional development plan.
5. Practice reflective thinking in order to promote personal and student academic growth.
1. Attend professional/committee meetings as scheduled.
2. Attend at least one Home and School parent meeting per year.
3. Attend evening and/or weekend events as required per school calendar – conferences, open houses, music concerts, parent nights, community events, parish events, etc.
4. Actively participate in assigned or chosen committees.
5. Contribute to the safety and security of all members of the school community. See school security protocols and crisis plan.
6. Carefully read and adhere to the procedures, policies, and terms of the St. Gregory the Great Employee Handbook and Staff Handbook.
Music Teacher Specific
1. Participate as an active member of Faith Formation Team.
2. Prepare students to perform in a Christmas and a Spring Music Concert.
3. Directs youth choir and leads music at weekly school masses and 1 weekend mass per month
