Extended Care Director

  • Models and encourages Christian virtues and values
  • Communicates the school’s religious mission through appropriate attitude and action

A Foundation of Academic Excellence

  • Oversees extended care assistants
  • Supervises students who attend the Extended Care program
  • Help assistants create and facilitate activities for student engagement
  • Prepares and sets up classroom as needed
  • Cleans up the Extended Care space and leaves classroom ready for morning kindergarten
  • Shares observations of student progress with the classroom teachers as needed

Community

  • Creates a climate that promotes respect, cooperation, and kindness among students
  • Works collegially and respectfully with other school staff members, parish staff, and clergy
  • Maintains positive rapport with parents and communicates proactively with parents, teachers, and principal

Development of the Whole Child

  • In the extended care setting promotes the development of students’ non-academic gifts and talents
  • Is attentive to the social, emotional, and physical needs of students
  • Provides for individual differences among students
  • Works to improve student responsibility, self-confidence, and interpersonal skills
  • Communicates effectively with classroom teachers and principal
  • Communicates effectively with parents

Other Responsibilities

  • Follows school regulations and policies
  • Handles confidential and/or official information with discretion
  • Provides safe environment for students in the Extended Care program
  • Monitors and communicates the weekly schedule of students attending Extended Care
  • Oversees billing
  • Maintains spreadsheets
  • Updates EC policy handbook annually
  • Demonstrates willingness to go beyond assigned duties

Hours:

  • 2:00 – 6:00 PM when school is in session
  • Total hours will be approximately 20 - 23 hours per week when school is in session.

Qualifications

  • Archdiocesan Safe Environment training
  • First Aid training (preferred)
  • Experience with child care and/or elementary (K -8) teaching
  • Outstanding references
