Major Position Responsibilities and Regular Activities:

1. Responsible for guiding custodian to ensure the cleanliness of the building and grounds in all respects.
2. Raises and lowers flag, when applicable.
3. Completes minor repairs and preventative maintenance as required. (Lubricates motors, bearings, cleans fans, filters, etc.) and refers unsolved problems to management.
4. Ensures building is kept up to code and in compliance, including maintaining documentation up to date.
5. Performs the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines and support a safe work environment.
6. Schedules all maintenance activities during normal duty hours.
7. Maintains professional relationship with parish staff, school staff, students, volunteers and parishioners to achieve the purposes of the parish mission.
8. Inspects and maintains heating, air-conditioning, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems, lawns, parking lots, sports fields and play areas.
9. Communicates with the Director of Administrative Services as necessary regarding repairs and maintenance issues.
10. Executes seasonal tasks including salting, snow removal, and preparation of HVAC system.
11. Carries out preventative maintenance as directed and assists the trades and inspectors in maintaining the parish facilities, equipment and vehicles.
12. Arranges facilities for parish and school events.
13. Monitors the efficient and proper use of custodial supplies, including paper products, and maintains a system of stock control of all supplies and orders as necessary.
14. Maintains preventative maintenance logs or other records as required.
15. Coordinates dates off with custodian to ensure that one maintenance staff is on duty.
16. Performs other related duties as assigned.
