General Music / Choir Teacher

Supported by a well-developed collection of Orff and percussion instruments along with contemporary technologies, the music teacher utilizes Orff-Schulwerk / Kodaly approaches to implement curriculum based on the new Wisconsin State Music Standards.  Position is responsible for 4K-5th grade general music and two middle school choirs (6th grade intermediate choir and 7th/8th grade advanced choir).  The music teacher collaborates with other music faculty (band, strings) in planning and presenting four concerts per year that showcase process as well as performance:  two choir concerts in conjunction with instrumental programs, one all-school Christmas concert, and one general music spring concert.  The music teacher is part of the full-time professiolnal staff and takes an active leadership role in facilitating arts integration throughout the school.  

Qualifications

Wisconsin DPI licenses 515 and 511

Orff certification

Piano and vocal competency

Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills

Impeccable oral and written communication skills

Facility with contemporary educational technologies
