History Teacher

Responsibilities

The high school history position is a part-time 10-month position.  Expectations include, but are not limited to:

  • planning lessons that are aligned to the curriculum and that engage students
  • incorporating technology to effectively create a 21st century learning environments within the classroom
  • establishing and maintaining a positive classroom environment
  • teaching and modeling the Catholic faith
  • maintaining accurate student records
  • using formative and summative assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction
  • collaborating with the history department and other faculty members
  • communicating professionally with parents on a regular basis
  • participating in ongoing professional development

Cooperates with the principal and department chair in the planning and development of curriculum

Qualifications

Applicants should have at least a bachelor’s degree in education and hold a valid teaching certificate.  Preferred candidates will have at least 2 years teaching experience.  Once hired, applicants must comply with Archdiocesan background check and Safe Environment training requirements.
