Instructional Aide

  • Models and encourages Christian virtues and values
  • Assists with school service projects and activities
  • Communicates the school’s religious mission through appropriate attitude and action


A Foundation of Academic Excellence

  • Assists the classroom teachers as directed
  • Works with students in small groups and center activities
  • Prepares and sets up classroom as directed by the classroom teachers
  • Shares observations of student progress with the classroom teachers
  • Takes initiative in supervising students in the classroom, on the playground



  • Creates a climate that promotes respect, cooperation, and kindness among students
  • Works collegially and respectfully with other school staff members, parish staff, and clergy
  • Maintains positive rapport with parents and communicates proactively with both parents and teachers


Development of the Whole Child

  • Assists the classrooms teachers in promoting the development of students’ non-academic gifts and talents
  • Is attentive to the social, emotional, and physical needs of students
  • Provides for individual differences among students
  • Works to improve student responsibility, self-confidence, and interpersonal skills
  • Communicates effectively with classroom teachers


Other Responsibilities

  • Follows school regulations and policies
  • Handles confidential and/or official information with discretion
  • Provides bus, playground, or lunchroom supervision as assigned
  • Demonstrates willingness to go beyond assigned duties


ADA Essential Job Functions:

Position requires ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time, ability to use hands, speak and hear and lift up to 25 pounds.  Requires close vision to use the computer.




  • Experience as an Instructional Aide is helpful but not a pre-requisite.  
  • Willing to acquire knowledge of current instructional best practices 
  • Qualified candidate is collaborative, works well with both students and teachers
  • Enjoys supervising students outside during morning bus duty and recess
