Long-Term Middle School English Language Arts Teacher

Applications are being accepted for a middle school ELA long-term substitute teacher.  The qualified candidate will teach three sections of English Language Arts and three sections of Literature to students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade daily.  Planning and assessments will be required in alignment with Archdiocesan standards and school policy.  This position includes sixth grade homeroom responsibilities and other job-related tasks as assigned by administration.  The long-term substitute position will conclude in June.  Continuation in this role for the 2019-2020 school year is a potential option.  A contract may be offered to a qualified candidate.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education or related field or approved plan of study.

WI DPI Teaching License or approved plan of study.

Strong knowledge of the Catholic faith and teachings.

Previous teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.

Strong classroom management skills.

Skills and knowledge of technology related to elementary education.  Knowledge of Google classroom and applications a plus.

Good communication skills.

Willing to collaborate with staff regularly.

Active participant in weekly staff meetings.

Knowledge of differentiated instructional practices.

Some Spanish-speaking skills/fluent in Spanish a plus but not a requirement.

Must attend a Safeguarding All of God's Children session and pass background check requirments prior to start.
