Has a passion for teaching Social Studies and Religion to middle school students in grades 6th-8th through the use of best classroom practices.

Is responsible for the instruction, supervision, and management of students.

Possesses excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, parents, administrators, teachers, and other building staff.

Exhibits empathy and support for the academic and emotional needs of his or her students.

Has a deep understanding of the Archdiocesan Social Studies and Religion Standards.

Uses student and school-wide data in planning lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.

Collaborates with administration, colleagues, and parents to provide differentiated instruction and assessment and appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with special learning needs.

Assesses students on a regular basis using formative and summative assessments.

Integrates technology and 21st-century skills into the curriculum.

Creates authentic hands-on learning experiences and guides students in their understanding of Social Studies and the Catholic faith.

Participate in additional school-related activities, including but not limited to: open house, graduation, back-to-school picnic, Catholic Schools Week Masses, parent-teacher conferences, and other events as assigned.

Attends all teacher in-services, team and level meetings, faculty meetings, professional development, and faith formation workshops.

Must complete the “Safeguarding All of God’s Family” training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and complete a criminal background check before employment.

Holds a valid WI teaching license or substitute teaching license.
