Maintenance Technician

Administrative

  • Assists in the administration of policies regarding physical safety of the overall environment and the supervision and safety of minors.
  • Oversees proper care and respect in the use of buildings, grounds, and equipment in the area of responsibility.
  • Assists in emergency calls related to the physical plant.
  • Assists mausoleum entombment procedures.

Physical Plant

  • Assists in the maintenance and repair of the physical plant building systems.
  • Assists in maintaining all logs as required by civil law, parish, or archdiocesan policy.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
  • Completes daily custodial functions in the school.

Grounds

  • Directs and performs duties necessary to operate and maintain the grounds in a clean, sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
  • Performs a major role in the snow removal plan, including maintaining the event/condition log.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in facility management, building maintenance, etc. preferred.
  • Professional certification and valid license of operation e.g., HVAC, (high/low) pressure boiler preferred.

 General skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting trades. Construction knowledge with mechanical ability and understanding of various systems involved in physical plant maintenance. Valid driver’s license and good driving record
