Musician - Organ & Piano

Major Position Responsibilites and Regular Activities

- Plays piano and organ for all liturgies including: Sundays, the Sacred Triduum, Holy Days of obligation, weddings, funerals, advent and lent penance services and other needs as they arise, or arranges for substitutes for time off and funerals.

Chooses music together with the pastor.

Recruits, schedules and trains all musicians.

Acts as a music resource for parish groups and collaborates with the school musician.

Familiarity with sound systems, their care and maintenance.

Familiarity with pipe organ, piano and electric piano care and maintenance.

Orders musical supplies.

Meets with wedding couples to prepare music within pastor's guidelines.

Accompanies funerals.

Qualifications

Degree in Liturgy with choral, piano and organ skills and/or a degree in music with liturgical background or willingness to learn about the liturgy.
