Part-Time Physical Education Teacher

The qualified candidate should be a team player and will teach K-8th Grade Physical Education two mornings a week from 8:00-11:35. The successful applicant will have strong classroom management skills and a wide variety of teaching strategies that will motivate and engage students across a variety of skill, ability, and interest levels. The primary focus is on motivating and encouraging students, promoting sportsmanship, building health and wellness understanding and developing an awareness of the importance of an overall healthy lifestyle.

 

Qualifications

  • Has a passion for teaching Physical Education to elementary students in grades K-8th through the use of best classroom practices.

  • Is responsible for the instruction, supervision, and positive classroom management of students.

  • Possesses excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, parents, administrators, teachers and other building staff.

  • Exhibits empathy and support for the academic and emotional needs of his or her students.

  • Implement cross-curricular methods into the physical education classroom.

  • Organize, lead, instruct, and referee individual and team sports to students, utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and the physical capabilities of a variety of students.

  • Has a deep understanding of the Wisconsin State Standards for Physical Education.

  • Use student and school-wide data in planning lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.

  • Collaborate with administration, colleagues, and parents to provide differentiated instruction and assessment and appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with special learning needs.

  • Assesses students on a regular basis using formative and summative assessments.

  • Attends all teacher in-services, faculty meetings, professional development, and faith formation workshops.

  • Must complete the “Safeguarding All of God’s Family” training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and complete a criminal background check.

  • Holds a valid WI teaching license.
