Key responsibilities include:
• Accompany students with disabilities throughout the school day, facilitating access to the curriculum across all settings
• Assist the special education teacher, general education teacher, and other staff in providing instructional activities and reinforcement for students
with disabilities
• Develop student skills and independence in all areas, including academics, communication, and social interaction
• Provide support to help students with disabilities form relationships with others and promote social and emotional well-being
• Work one-on-one, in small group settings, and within the general education classroom as needed
• Assist students in personal care activities as needed
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
• Experience and interest in working with students with disabilities, particularly in an educational setting
• Competence in academic areas necessary to assist in instructional tasks
• Comfort working in close proximity to students
• Good judgment, cooperation, tact, and discretion in dealing with students, families, and others
• Collaboration and open communication

- High school diploma or equivalent
