The Easter Season is a time to celebrate our faith anew. We’re swept up by the power of the Resurrection and everything about our faith should be “on the rise.”
Later this month we celebrate a very important holy day in our Church. Thursday, Aug. 15, marks the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Beginning this Sunday, and continuing for the next four weeks, we journey through the sacred season of Advent. It is that special time in the Church year when we prepare ourselves for the “advent” or “coming” of Christ into our lives.
Lent is that sacred time in our Church year when we embark upon an important and necessary 40-day spiritual journey.
This indeed is an exciting moment in the Church Year! We have experienced the Risen Christ in the power of the Easter Season, been showered with the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, and celebrated the great mystery of our God as Most Holy Trinity.
Honoring the gift of faith and calling us into deeper faith, Pope Benedict has announced a Year of Faith to begin on October 11, 2012.
These inserts are distributed to parishes within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee every other month. They are intended to inform parishioners about the Year of Faith, teach them more about their Catholic faith and inspire them to live it more fully, as well as to share it with others.
