Divine Mercy Parish School is a vibrant K3 through eighth grade school located in South Milwaukee. We are currently seeking a faith filled, compassionate and creative person to join our school staff as the full time second grade teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a deep commitment to excellence and personal growth, as well as a belief in all students. The ideal candidate is expected to make positive contributions in a team environment and to embrace the Divine Mercy Parish School mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Current State of Wisconsin teaching license
- Believes ALL students can learn at high levels
- Faithful Catholic that models Catholic spirituality, attitudes, and behaviors
- Professional and joyful working attitude and collaborative approach
- Strong verbal, written, communication, and organizational skills
- Passionate and dynamic team player
- Working knowledge of office software, such as but not limited to Google suite and Microsoft
Responsibilities:
- Create a positive, faith-filled classroom environment that is conducive to learning and incorporates purposeful play
- Develop, maintain, and grow positive and authentic relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Design and communicate instructional outcomes that reflect curriculum expectations for students
- Plan and deliver aligned and coherent instruction (lessons/units) that have a clearly defined structure and logical supportive activities
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a wide span of skills and abilities
- Plan, prepare, and implement standards based instruction and grading
- Assess student progress and achievement using data from various assessment sources
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual and group needs of students
- Attend and engage in staff meetings, professional development, and faith formation
- Works with families as partners in their child’s education
