Position Overview
Holy Family Parish School is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated educator to serve as our Full-Time 2nd Grade Teacher. This pivotal role involves leading a self-contained classroom and guiding students through a year of significant spiritual and academic growth.
The ideal candidate will bring a passion for primary education, a strong commitment to Catholic values, and the ability to engage young learners in a loving, faith-filled, and academically enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sacramental Preparation: Lead and coordinate the preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. This includes teaching the theological foundations of these sacraments and collaborating with the Parish Office and parents to ensure a meaningful experience for the children.
- Inclusive Instruction: Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles. Demonstrate knowledge or experience working with neurodivergent students by utilizing inclusive teaching strategies and providing necessary accommodations.
- Academic Excellence: Deliver high-quality instruction in core subjects including Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Religion, Science, and Social Studies, aligned with Archdiocesan standards.
- Data-Driven and Standards-Based Instruction and Assessment: Collect data on individual student achievement in a variety of formative and summative assessments. Provide individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs using knowledge of standards-based instruction.
- Faith Leadership: Integrate Catholic social teaching and Gospel values into the daily curriculum and classroom culture.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, organized, and safe learning environment that encourages student participation and respect.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively and regularly with parents, colleagues, and school administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (required).
- Valid Wisconsin Teaching License (or eligibility for licensure).
- Practicing Catholic with a deep understanding of the Sacraments.
- Complete the required background criminal records check.
- Meet the requirements for religious instruction as established by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee within five (5) years of initial employment.
- Maintain a constant updating of academic and religious requirements as required by the Wisconsin DPI and Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
- Display and practice the Christian values expected of Catholic educators.
- Proven experience or specialized training in supporting neurodivergent learners.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
