Lumen Christi Catholic School, a high-performing exemplary suburban school committed to academic excellence and faith-based education, is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support students in grades 6–8 for the 2026-2027 school year.
JOB PURPOSE:
Assist students in meeting individual educational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Masters Degree in Education
- Valid Wisconsin Teaching License, the appropriate license
- Minimum 5 years of successful teaching
- Minimum 3 years of reading or mathematics teaching experience, including expertise in research-based instructional practices and work toward improving underachieving students’ performance
- Utilizing a multitier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning needs.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Interpersonal skills and proven ability to work cooperatively with parents, students, and staff
- Organizational and communication skills
- Conduct effective meetings
- Use technology to support instruction and enhance student learning in a standards-based classroom.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Tier 3 intervention, including proper implementation and data collection
- Provide Tier 2 intervention, including proper implementation and data collection
- Collaborate and co-plan with teachers on a weekly basis
- Small-group instruction through collaboration with the grade-level teacher.
- Analyzes and track existing student achievement data to determine specific gaps in learning based on specific strands in content standards.
- Participates in PST (problem solving team) meetings to analyze student progress and shift interventions/intervention groups as guided by data analysis.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle discipline problems generally encountered.
- Communication to parents/guardians.
- Assist with Archdiocesan and school testing (ITBS and MAP).
- Participate in IEP meetings at the public school, and communicate and disseminate information to teachers.
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Attend and participate in conferences, in-services and workshops to increase professional knowledge.
- Maintains records as required by law, school policy, and administrative regulations in a timely and confidential manner.
- Attends staff meetings and training, and serves on committees as needed.
- Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned workday.
- Dedicated to the mission, vision, core values and strategic goals of the school.
