St. Joseph Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled, and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher to lead our third-grade classroom for the first 6–8 weeks of the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction, maintain a positive and engaging learning environment, and support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students while the regular classroom teacher is on leave.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and curriculum in core subject areas, including Religion, Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and faith-centered classroom environment rooted in Catholic values.
- Establish positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Manage classroom routines, expectations, and student behavior effectively.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of assignments and performance.
- Communicate regularly with school administration and families regarding student learning and classroom activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional collaboration, and school events as appropriate.
- Uphold the mission and values of St. Joseph Catholic School and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license preferred; qualified substitute teaching credentials will be considered.
- Experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably in grades 2–4.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting the Catholic mission of the school.
- Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required.
