We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic educator to join our team as a 5th and 6th-grade Math and Science Teacher. The ideal candidate is passionate about fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning in upper elementary students.
This position involves creating engaging, hands-on lessons that support student growth in mathematics and science while building a positive and structured classroom environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with families, and contribute to our vibrant school community.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging math and science instruction aligned with curriculum standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and student engagement
- Use data to inform instruction and support student growth
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives (PLCs)
Qualifications:
- Current State of Wisconsin teaching license
- Strong background in math and science instruction at the elementary or middle school level
- Working knowledge of Google and ability to integrate technology into instruction
- Knowledge of Standards-Based Grading principles and practices
- Belief that all students can learn at high levels
- Models Catholic/Christian spirituality, attitudes, and behaviors (practicing Catholic preferred)
- Professional, collaborative approach with colleagues and families
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Passionate, dynamic team player with a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or familiarity with the Bridges Math curriculum (Grade 5) and Inspiring Connections (CPM) curriculum (Grade 6), or a willingness to engage in training to effectively implement these programs
- Experience or interest in teaching robotics, STEM, or project-based learning
- Special Education experience
