Position Title: Part-Time Adult ESL Teacher
Reports to: Southside Family Engagement Manager
Employment Classification: Part-time, 10-Month, Hourly Non-Exempt

Seton Catholic Schools is a network of K-8 parish schools in Milwaukee. Currently, there are 11 schools serving approximately 2,500 students in the network with plans in place to expand to a total of 24 schools serving nearly 8,000 students, making Seton the largest Catholic elementary school network in the country. Seton is strengthening academics, faith formation and life-long outcomes for all students and is a unique model on the front end of transforming Catholic education in Milwaukee and across the nation.

Position Description: A part-time ESL teacher at Seton Catholic Schools is a devoted educator who is committed to all adult students succeeding in English Language Acquisition and to support the growth of the Adult ESL program at Seton Catholic Schools. The ESL teacher will be responsible for teaching introductory level classes following the Intercambio's Confidence and Connections curriculum.  Teachers are responsible for creating a safe, organized, and joyful classroom environment that supports academic growth and ESL instruction. The ESL program will run from September -May 2025 at St. Adalbert School, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00PM.

ESL License is not required

Qualifications

The ideal teacher candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of age-appropriate instructional best practices and assessment systems
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate with others and cultivate a strong school culture with all school staff
  • Sense of personal responsibility for professional results and interest in seeking opportunities for feedback 
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, take initiative and operate with a growth mindset

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • ESL license
