Blessed Sacrament School is seeking a Director of Faith Formation for 3K-8th grade classes for the school year 2026-2027. Start date in mid-August.

Hours: 40 per week, infrequent weekends

Wage: Salaried position, commensurate with experience

The Director of Faith Formation (DFF) plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the school fiath formation classes and supervises the faith formation staff and volunteers. The DFF attends staff meetings and successfully assumes new responsibilitites and provides direct support in strengthening the school's overall religious edcation. As a representative of the Roman Catholic Church, the Director of Faith Formation will conduct him/herself according to the goals and mission of the CHurch in performing their duties.

Qualifications: Applicant must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, have experience in parish ministry and hold a bachelor's degree in theology or religious education with strong knowledge of Church teachings. Applicant must be open to be trained in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd or already have training. References and background check required. Full-time 9-month position. This is not a remote position. General Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all school religious education and Catholic formation programs, and organize resources in religious education for the principal, school staff, students and school families
  • Recruit and train teachers/catechists for CGS and all school faith formation
  • Supervise curricula planning and the selection of texts
  • Establish the details of the school's faith formation calendar
  • Provide appropriate environments for catechetical and spiritual growth
  • Ensure proper supervision of facilities during program class times
  • Create communications for staff, students, parents, and catechists
  • Recruit, hire and supervise catechists and volunteers
  • Assist each catechist in establishing and implementing their plan for diocesan catechist certification and maintain catechist records
  • Provide in-services and on-going development opportunities for staff, catechists, and volunteers
  • Work with the Diocesan Office of Evangelization and Catechesis representing the parish/school at various meetings and conferences pertaining to religious education  and/or administrative development
  • Cooperate with parish/school staff members in developing and implementing parish/school programs and use of the facilities
  • Collaborate with the school principal to help unify the religious education programs and the Catholic school program
  • Promote religous education among all segments of the parish/school community
