St. Leonard Catholic Church is looking for an enthusiastic, faith-filled, and creative leader to join our parish family as our Director of Christian Formation for Children (Preschool–Grade 6)!

As our Director, you'll bring faith to life by creating engaging, meaningful, and welcoming opportunities for children and families to grow in their Catholic faith.

What will you do?

• Inspire Young Hearts: Lead and develop Christian Formation programs for children from preschool through Grade 6.
• Prepare for Special Moments: Coordinate First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation, helping children and families celebrate these important milestones.
• Build an Amazing Team: Recruit, encourage, and support volunteer catechists who share their faith and gifts with our children.
• Partner with Parents: Equip and encourage families as they grow together in faith.
• Bring Creativity to Faith Formation: Select engaging resources, develop curriculum, and continually look for fresh ways to make learning about our faith meaningful and fun.
• Create a Welcoming Parish: Oversee programs for our youngest parishioners, including Junior Leos, Little Leos, and our Sunday Mass Busy Bag program.
• Collaborate and Connect: Work alongside our Youth Minister and parish staff to create a vibrant, connected Christian Formation experience.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT?

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a practicing Catholic who embraces and supports the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.
• Has a genuine love for children and a passion for sharing the Catholic faith.
• Is creative, organized, enthusiastic, and enjoys bringing people together.
• Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Has Advanced Catechist Certification or is willing to work toward certification.
• Has a bachelor's degree in Theology, Christian Studies, Education, or a related field (preferred).
• Has experience developing educational programs or working with children (preferred).

THE OPPORTUNITY

• Position: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
• Classification: Exempt
• Location: St. Leonard Catholic Church, Muskego, WI
• Reports to: Pastor
