Job Overview
Burlington Catholic School is seeking a passionate and strategic Director of Development to lead our fundraising and relationship-building efforts, driving our school's growth and sustainability. This important role involves designing and executing comprehensive development strategies, cultivating key partnerships, and expanding our donor base. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for nonprofit management, a knack for innovative marketing, and a proven history of securing funds through diverse channels while advancing the mission and strategic plan of Burlington Catholic School.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals, including major gifts, grants, events, and digital campaigns.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders to foster long-term engagement.
  • Works collaboratively with the administrative teams and advancement team to plan various fundraising events including but not limited to the school auction.
  • Write compelling grant proposals and reports to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and corporate sponsors.
  • Conduct research on potential funding sources, market trends, and best practices in nonprofit development to inform strategic planning.
  • Manage and balance competing priorities, complex/confidential situations and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Work in conjunction with the Principal, Business Manager, and Marketing team to supervise the auction as well as other fundraising events.
  • Work closely with the Business Manager to ensure accurate reconciliation of donations with accounting records
  • Monitor the Development budget
  • Demonstrate continued professional development

Experience

  • Proven experience in nonprofit development or fundraising leadership roles with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants, major gifts, sponsorships, and organizing impactful fundraising events.
  • Excellent proposal writing skills with a history of successful grant applications.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit management principles including budgeting, volunteer coordination, public relations, and marketing strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Applications, and / or database management

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
