Ministry
The Director of Evangelization is responsible for developing, coordinating, and advancing the parish’s mission to evangelize, welcome, engage, and accompany people in their relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church.
I. Major Position Responsibilities
- Evangelization and Outreach
- Communicates the parish’s mission, vision, and values in an accessible and inviting manner.
- Encourages relationship-building as an important component of evangelization.
- Develops service opportunities for individuals and families
- Coordinates parish processes for welcoming and following-up with new parishioners.
- Identifies opportunities to reach people who are disconnected from the Church, inactive, or seeking a deeper relationship with Christ.

C. Hospitality and Engagement
- Encourages a culture of hospitality throughout the parish
- Plans, coordinates, and evaluates parish events that support evangelization, community-building, and discipleship (weekend and funeral hospitality, Donut Sunday, etc.)
- Identifies ways to make visitors, new parishioners, returning Catholics, and those seeking information feel welcomed and valued.
- Develops strategies for individuals and families who express interest in becoming more involved in the life of the Church and parish
- Encourages parishioners to share their gifts and resources as a response to discipleship.
II. Other tasks
- Establishes an evangelization program calendar
- Prepares and monitors the evangelization budget
- Participates in staff and other meetings as requested
- Engages visibly at major parish events
- Creates operating procedures for all aspects of the position
- Other duties as assigned
III. Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic who understands and supports the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to use Canva or willingness to learn
- Expertise in digital, print, and social media and other marketing technologies
- Ability to work most weekends

- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and arms.
- Close vision required for paperwork and computer.
- Able to utilize computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
- This role functions in an office environment and uses standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds.
