St. Kilian School is seeking a caring, energetic, and faith-filled Early Childhood Aide to join our preschool team. As a Catholic school committed to nurturing the whole child, we seek an individual who loves working with young children and understands the importance of creating a safe, joyful, and engaging environment where our youngest learners can grow in faith, wonder, and confidence.
The ideal candidate will support the classroom teacher in providing a developmentally appropriate learning environment that fosters social, emotional, spiritual, physical, and academic growth.
Position Overview
The Early Childhood Aide assists the classroom teacher in the daily operation of the 3K/4K program. This position supports student learning, classroom management, supervision, and care while helping to create a warm and nurturing environment rooted in Catholic values.
Essential Responsibilities
Student Support & Classroom Assistance
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily learning activities and routines.
- Support students individually and in small groups during instructional activities.
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and activities.
- Reinforce classroom expectations and positive behavior.
- Assist students with transitions, meals, rest time, and daily routines.
- Supervise students during indoor and outdoor play, arrival, dismissal, and other activities.
- Provide a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for all children.
Child Development & Formation
- Encourage the development of independence, responsibility, and positive social skills.
- Foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
- Support children's emotional and developmental needs with patience and kindness.
- Help students develop respectful relationships with peers and adults.
Catholic Identity
- Support the Catholic mission and culture of the school.
- Model Christian virtues through daily interactions with students, families, and staff.
- Participate in prayer and faith-based activities appropriate for young children.
- Help create an environment where children experience God's love and care.
Collaboration & Professionalism
- Work closely with the classroom teacher and preschool team.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist with school needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Experience working with preschool or elementary-aged children preferred.
- Compliance with all Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements and child protection protocols.
Compensation & Employment Details
- Position: Part-Time Early Childhood Aide (3K/4K)
- Location: St. Kilian Catholic School, Hartford, WI
- Supervisor: Principal and Preschool Teacher
- Employment Status: Part-Time, hourly
- Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively supervise and engage with young children throughout the day.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when assisting children or moving classroom materials.
- Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities in varying weather conditions.
