Facilities Maintenance Technician – St. Anthony on the Lake
Position Overview St. Anthony on the Lake is seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of our church, school, and parish buildings. This role is essential in ensuring that all facilities remain clean, safe, welcoming, and fully operational—directly supporting our school’s educational mission and the church’s ministry.
Key Responsibilities
Custodial & Cleaning
- Perform daily cleaning of parish facilities, including the church, gathering spaces, hallways, and parish offices.
- Conduct occasional cleaning of school areas such as classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common spaces.
Outdoor & Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain outdoor areas including playgrounds, walkways, and entrances.
- Provide snow and ice removal during winter months.
- Perform light landscaping tasks such as trimming, mulching, and weeding.
Event Support
- Set up and break down furniture, equipment, and room layouts for parish and school events.
- Support Faith Formation needs and assist parish/school committees as requested.
Repairs & Building Upkeep
- Complete minor repairs including light bulb replacement, basic plumbing fixes, and furniture adjustments.
- Maintain and care for equipment used on-site.
Safety & Facility Care
- Manage waste disposal, trash removal, and general clutter control.
- Assist with pest control as needed.
- Respond to emergency cleanup situations and safety concerns promptly.
Schedule
- Primarily daytime hours with occasional weekend work depending on parish and school needs.
Qualifications
- Prior custodial or general maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently, responsibly, and with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of building systems and common repair tasks.
- Ability to lift, carry, and perform physically demanding work.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
