Finance Manager
Salaried, 30 hours per week

Reports to the Pastor

 

Position Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Sheboygan North Catholic Parishes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with Archdiocesan policies and civil regulations. This position manages accounting, payroll, benefits, financial reporting, internal controls, and related administrative functions. The Finance Manager supports the Pastor, parish finance councils, parish organizations, and staff by providing clear financial information and prudent fiscal oversight consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

Financial Management & Accounting

  • Maintain accurate financial records and internal control systems in compliance with Archdiocesan policies
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Prepare and coordinate the distribution of parishioner year-end statements
  • Assist in preparation, administration, and monitoring of the parish budget
  • Oversee collection, recording, depositing, and reconciliation of parish revenues
  • Process accounts payable and ensure proper authorization of expenditures
  • Maintain banking and investment accounts
  • Serve as parish contact with financial institutions and the Archdiocese
  • Prepare for and cooperate with financial reviews or audits

 

Payroll & Human Resources

  • Process payroll accurately and in compliance with state and federal law
  • Ensure tax withholding and required government reporting
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with employment regulations
  • Administer salary and benefit policies as directed
  • Serve as resource for employee benefit questions
  • Prepare year-end payroll documentation (W-2s, etc.)

 

Parish & Ministry Support

  • Serve as a resource to the parish finance councils
  • Serve as a resource to parish organizations on financial matters
  • Coordinate liability requirements for parish facilities
  • Complete Archdiocesan and required government reports
  • Oversee raffle licensing compliance
  • Participate in the Business Administrators Archdiocese of Milwaukee (BAAM) professional group
  • Other duties as assigned by Pastor

 

Cemetery Administration (Calvary Cemetery)

  • Processes and record cemetery payments
  • Support cemetery financial recordkeeping

 

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Faithful and joyful Catholic strongly desired
  • Work experience in business administration, accounting, or finance
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative and service-oriented approach

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position operates in a standard office environment. Duties require prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional lifting of office materials up to 25 pounds. Occasional attendance at evening meetings may be required.
