Position Summary: 

The Financial Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing financial documentation, bookkeeping and audit preparation specifically related to the Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP).  This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting or bookkeeping experience, familiarity with nonprofit or school finance practices, and a desire to contribute meaning fully to Catholic education.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Maintain accurate and up to date financial records related to SNSP program
2. Prepare and organize documentation for annual audits and program reviews
3. Track SNSP income and expenditures, ensuring alignment with program requirements
4. Process all accounts payable for the school
5. Collaborate with school administration to ensure proper financial reporting and compliance
6. Assist with budget preparation and variance tracking specific to SNSP program
7. Generate reports for state submissions and internal review
8. Ensure financial practices meet all DPI (Department of Public Instruction) regulations for SNSP
9. Communicate with external auditors and state agencies as needed
10. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
2. 2+ years’ experience in bookkeeping or financial administration
3. Experience working with nonprofit or school-based financial systems strongly preferred
4. Familiarity with Wisconsin’s SNSP Choice programs is highly desirable
5. Proficient with ACS or similar accounting software
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
7. Excellent organizational and communication skills
8. Must support the mission and values of Catholic parish and school
9. Must be able to meet Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safe Environment requirements, including a federal and state background check

Status:  Part Time, 16 hours per week, flexible schedule
Start Date: August 2026
Payroll Status:  Hourly
