Pius XI Catholic High School is seeking a full-time long-term substitute Social Studies teacher for Semester 1 of the 2026–2027 school year. Pius XI is the most diverse Catholic high school in the state of Wisconsin and is committed to providing every student with an education that prepares them for college, career, and a life of purpose.

Candidates should demonstrate a passion for Catholic education and a willingness to integrate Catholic and Gospel values into the classroom experience.

The qualified candidate should be able to teach Psychology and AP Psychology.

 


 

Responsibilities

  • Teach Psychology and AP Psychology courses during Semester 1
  • Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports student learning
  • Prepare students for success on the AP Psychology exam
  • Collaborate with Social Studies department colleagues on curriculum and instruction
  • Support the mission and values of Pius XI Catholic High School
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

 


 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required
  • Wisconsin DPI teaching license preferred (candidates without licensure may be considered if they demonstrate strong content knowledge and a willingness to pursue licensure)
  • Strong background in Psychology or related field
  • Ability to teach AP-level content and support student readiness for the AP exam
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with teenage students of varying abilities preferred
