Position Purpose
The Fundraising & Donor Relations Manager is a part-time role supporting the St. Robert Catholic Parish and School team responsible for strengthening relationships with donors, parishioners, school families, alumni, and community partners, while growing philanthropic support for the mission of St. Robert.
The Manager will lead and coordinate annual parish and school giving campaigns, parish stewardship, event sponsorships, special appeals, and development communications. This position works collaboratively with parish and school leadership, staff, trustees, and volunteers to build a strong and sustainable culture of philanthropy and stewardship.
The Fundraising Manager reports to the Director of Administrative Services and works closely with the Pastor and Principal.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development
- Manage and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising and development plan for Saint Robert Parish and School.
- Improve and maintain an annual development calendar and communication plan across campaigns, appeals, events and sponsorships.
- Engage parish and school leadership and oversee key volunteers in donor cultivation and mission-based fundraising. Collaborate with the Development, Stewardship, Home & School, Finance, and other committees as appropriate.
- Help identify, cultivate, and solicit individual donors, major gift prospects, benefactors, alumni, parishioners, school families, and business sponsors.
- Develop strategies to increase donor participation, retention, recurring giving, and overall philanthropic support.
- Coordinate donor recognition to ensure donors understand the impact of their support and gratitude of our community.
- Work with leadership to identify opportunities for grants, major gifts, planned giving, memorial gifts, and special project support.
- Oversee and support the parish’s ParishStaq giving platform and related online giving initiatives.
- Track fundraising activity and results and provide regular reports to parish and school leadership. Maintain accurate and coordinated donor records across parish and school systems.
Donor Relations
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors, parishioners, school families, alumni, volunteers, and community partners.
- Develop consistent donor acknowledgment, recognition and stewardship practices; Coordinate donor thank-you communications and impact updates.
- Identify opportunities to reconnect and engage former school families, alumni, and past donors.
- Recruit, organize, and support volunteers involved in fundraising and development initiatives.
Development Communications
- Develop compelling fundraising communications that clearly communicate Saint Robert’s mission, needs, priorities, and impact.
- Coordinate direct mail, email, digital, and other communications supporting fundraising and donor engagement.
- Establish consistent writing, design, and messaging standards for development-related communications.
- Produce the school’s Annual Fund report and other donor impact communications.
- Coordinate fundraising and stewardship content for parish and school websites, newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.
- Collaborate with the Admissions Director on communications and outreach that strengthen awareness of Saint Robert School and support enrollment growth.
Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic with a commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church and Catholic education.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of constituents.
- Experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, marketing, communications, event planning, volunteer management, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors, families, and parishioners.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
- Comfortable cultivating donor relationships and making direct requests for financial support.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and move projects from planning through execution.
- Proficiency with current technology, donor databases, email marketing, social media, and online giving platforms.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding donor and financial information.
Compensation
This is a part-time position averaging 20–25 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. The position requires occasional evening meetings and weekend availability for key parish events, including the Gala on the first Saturday in March and the Parish Fair during the first full weekend in June. The compensation range is $25–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
