St. Andrew Parish School is a faith-centered Catholic elementary school, fully accredited, serving Preschool through 8th grade students. We are located in Delavan, with an enrollment of 150+ students. We enhance each child's spiritual, academic, and social development in partnership with the Church, our parents, and our community, all based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. St. Andrew Parish School seeks an engaging, enthusiastic, and innovative educator to join our team as our Kindergarten Teacher. Our school prides itself on high academic achievement & growth, rigor, 21st Century pedagogy, team-oriented working conditions, low Teacher to Pupil teaching ratio, and students who are role models in faith, grace, caring, and work ethic.

Candidates must possess a strong work ethic. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strength in positive problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and technology literacy are needed. The ability to provide a secure, comfortable, respectful, and inviting learning atmosphere, which motivates and challenges students to achieve at their highest level, is essential. Candidates must be able to employ a variety of teaching strategies, taking into account the learning needs of all of the children, and be able to work collaboratively with the teachers and administration at St. Andrew Parish School.

  • Know, teach, and act consistently following the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of St. Andrew Parish School and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee;
  • Maintain state certification;
  • Perform teaching duties as assigned by the principal;
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues, teachers, and principal;
  • Attend required faculty and staff meetings;
  • Cooperate with the principal and staff members in school-related meetings, activities, and projects;
  • Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records;
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning and working environment;
  • Participate in the annual performance review based upon the implementation of the general responsibilities of a professional educator in a school;
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters.
  • Participate in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s religion in-service programs and our school-sponsored professional development programs;
  • Teach and act per Catholic doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
  • WI Teaching License, or the ability to obtain one
  • Previous classroom experience as a teacher or an assistant is preferred but not required
  • Strong classroom management
  • Organized, flexible individual
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) is a plus
