St. Agnes Catholic Parish & School is looking for a hard-working, organized, and reliable individual to run the school breakfast and lunch program.

Summary: Organize and direct food preparation in station assigned, serving line set-up and operation, as well as kitchen/cafeteria cleanup. Prepare and serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness

Operate kitchen equipment such as convection ovens, range, steam table, computer and dishwasher.

DUTUES AND RESPNSIBILIITES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage all aspects of the Breakfast and Lunch programs at St. Agnes School.
  • Report to work daily as scheduled in proper uniform and hair covering maintaining good personal hygiene.
  • Apply work simplification principles to organize work areas for food preparation, service set-up and cleaning. Hold hot or cold food properly.
  • Adhere to all National School Lunch Program guidelines for both breakfast and lunch
  • Practice correct sanitation principles following District sanitation guide.
  • Notify Elmbrook School District of food/paper/cleaning supplies that are needed.
  • Prepare and serve food on the daily menu using District portion guide for accuracy and proper serving tools.
  • Manage and direct the Lunchroom Assistant
  • Present appealing menu items.
  • Serve students ensuring they meet reimbursement guidelines
  • Be responsible for daily, weekly, monthly cleaning of kitchen, cafeteria and equipment.
  • Report equipment problems to the Principal
  • Create a pleasant serving atmosphere for students and staff.
  • Evaluate food acceptance by students and staff.
  • Maintain proper certification (including Serve Safe)
  • Attend staff meeting as directed

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. May have a School Food Service Vocational Diploma from a technical school.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret recipes and documents such as a safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and document food usage records.

Ability to speak effectively before employees or groups of students.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
