Divine Mercy Parish School is a vibrant K3 through 8th grade Catholic School located in South Milwaukee. We are currently seeking a faith-filled, compassionate, and student-centered individual to join our school staff as a part-time Learning Resource Teacher. We are looking for a candidate who possesses a deep commitment to excellence, collaboration, and the belief that all students can learn and grow. The ideal candidate will support students with diverse learning needs, collaborate with teachers and families, and embrace the mission of Divine Mercy Parish School.
The Learning Resource Teacher plays a vital role in ensuring that all students are supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their God-given potential while growing in faith and academic excellence.
The position is a .6 position, with scheduling flexible for days to fulfill this.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Education, Special Education, Exceptional Education, or related field preferred
- Current State of Wisconsin teaching license
- Special Education licensure preferred or willingness to pursue licensure
- Believes ALL students can learn at high levels and deserve opportunities for success
- Faithful Catholic who models Catholic spirituality, attitudes, and behaviors preferred
- Professional and joyful working attitude with a collaborative approach
- Strong verbal, written, communication, and organizational skills
- Passionate and dynamic team player
- Working knowledge of office software, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Experience working with diverse learning needs and accommodations preferred
Responsibilities:
- Create a positive, faith-filled learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students
- Provide targeted academic support and interventions for students with identified learning needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop, implement, and monitor accommodations and instructional supports
- Assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of a wide range of learners
- Support the implementation and monitoring of student accommodation plans and learning support plans
- Collect, analyze, and utilize assessment data to identify student needs and monitor progress
- Conduct academic screenings and progress monitoring assessments as needed
- Work directly with individual students and small group to provide supplemental instruction and intervention
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and outside service providers to support student success
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and communications
- Attend and actively engage in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and faith formation activities
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, faculty, and parish community members.
- Work with families as partners in their child's education, maintaining open and timely communication regarding student progress
- Support the Catholic mission of the school by participating in school liturgies, prayer experiences, and faith-based activities
