Position Overview

Corpus Christi Parish School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Middle School Math (Grades 6–8) to join our faith-filled learning community. This position offers a meaningful opportunity for an educator who is passionate about teaching mathematics and committed to supporting students academically, socially, and spiritually during the final weeks of the school year.

The ideal candidate fosters a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment while upholding the school's mission, vision, and Catholic identity.

 

Term of Assignment

  • Start Date: Early May
  • End Date: June 5 (end of the school year)

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based math instruction aligned with middle school learning goals for grades 6–8.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and academic needs.
  • Collaborate with middle school colleagues to ensure curricular alignment and instructional continuity.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and monitor student progress.
  • Integrate instructional technology effectively and responsibly, including Google platform tools.
  • Maintain open, respectful, and professional communication with students and parents through conferences, phone calls, and progress updates.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and respectful learning environment that motivates students to grow academically and personally.
  • Establish and maintain effective classroom management practices that promote responsibility, respect, and student engagement.
  • Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all students while on school premises.

Qualifications

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, ethical conduct, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in educational technology, including the Google platform.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid teaching license or Archdiocesan equivalent to teach Math in grades 6–8
  • Compliance with all Archdiocesan child protection training and procedures.
