St. Joseph School is seeking a passionate, engaging, and faith-filled Elementary Spanish Teacher to join our dedicated faculty on a part-time basis        (2 days per week). The successful candidate will inspire a love of language and culture while providing developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction to students in K3 through 4th grade.

Position Summary

The Elementary Spanish Teacher is responsible for introducing and teaching the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures to young learners. Students in K3 through 4th grade receive Spanish instruction twice per week, with lessons designed to build vocabulary, conversational skills, cultural awareness, and enthusiasm for language learning through interactive and engaging activities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate Spanish lessons for students in K3 through 4th grade.
  • Teach Spanish classes twice per week for each grade level.
  • Foster listening, speaking, reading, and introductory writing skills through songs, games, stories, movement, and hands-on activities.
  • Introduce students to the cultures and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental and learning needs of students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support student learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and school administration regarding student progress when appropriate.
  • Maintain classroom materials and instructional resources.
  • Uphold the mission, values, and Catholic identity of St. Joseph School.
