Due to continued enrollment growth, St. John Vianney Catholic Parish School in Brookfield is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled Part-Time Teacher Aide to support our students and teachers. This position offers approximately 20–25 hours per week and includes supervising students during lunch and recess, providing afternoon classroom support, and assisting with our aftercare program. This is a wonderful opportunity to become an important part of our vibrant school community by helping create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where every child feels known, valued, and loved. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates patience and enthusiasm, and is committed to supporting the mission and values of St. John Vianney Parish School.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during lunch periods, including supporting positive social interactions and appropriate mealtime behaviors.
  • Assist with transitions, recess, and other daily routines as needed.
  • Work as an afternoon educational aide in support of students and teachers.
  • Provide supervision and engagement for students participating in the aftercare program.
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for students.
  • Build positive relationships with students and support their social, emotional, and spiritual growth.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with teachers and staff.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide a positive and supportive presence for students.
  • Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently.
  • Commitment to supporting the Catholic mission and values of St. John Vianney Parish School.
