Position: Lead Cook - Saint Francis de Sales Seminary
Saint Francis de Sales Seminary is seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Cook to join our culinary team in St. Francis, WI. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality meals in a community-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth kitchen operations.
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
- Plan menus in collaboration with management, considering nutritional needs and preferences.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to promote professional growth and teamwork.
- Coordinate meal service schedules to meet the needs of the seminary community.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Lead Cook or similar role, preferably in an institutional or seminary setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards.
- Ability to plan menus and manage food inventory effectively.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
