St. Kilian School is seeking a faith-filled, energetic, and mission-driven Physical Education Teacher to join our faculty. Position Overview

The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate physical education instruction for students in grades K4–8. The teacher will promote physical wellness, skill development, teamwork, and character formation within a supportive and faith-centered school culture.

Essential Responsibilities

Instruction & Program Development

• Plan and implement engaging physical education lessons aligned with state standards and school goals.
• Teach fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness habits.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of all learners.
• Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
• Organize and maintain equipment and instructional spaces safely and effectively.
• Support school-wide wellness initiatives and physical activity opportunities.

Student Formation & School Culture

• Foster a positive environment that emphasizes respect, self-discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.
• Encourage healthy competition and good sportsmanship rooted in Christian virtue.
• Establish clear expectations and consistent routines.
• Promote student confidence, responsibility, and personal growth.
• Ensure student safety during all physical activities.

• Support and strengthen the Catholic mission of the school.
• Model Christian virtues and professional conduct.
• Help students recognize the connection between physical well-being, stewardship of the body, and human flourishing.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

• Possess strong classroom and behavior management skills.
• Understand best practices in physical education and student development.

• Work collaboratively as part of a small, mission-focused faculty.
• Support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Wisconsin teaching license (or ability to obtain licensure).
• Physical Education certification preferred.
• Prior teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Compliance with all Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements and child protection protocols.

Compensation & Employment Details

• Position: Part-Time Physical Education Teacher
• Location: St. Kilian Catholic School, Hartford, WI
• Supervisor: Principal
• Employment Status: Part-Time
• Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, walk, run, demonstrate physical activities, talk, and hear.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to supervise students in gymnasium, outdoor, and activity settings.
• Ability to use standard technology and communication tools.
